The boy hero comes to the United States and embarks upon a series of adventures including battling gangsters in Chicago before going back to Europe.

Tintin visits the U.S., accompanies an Egyptologist searching for the lost tomb of Pharaoh Kih-Oskh, and finds Professor Fang HsiYing, who is a prisoner in an opium den.
