Nine-year-old Amanda and her new pet, a ferret she names "Peach," embark on a battle of wills as Amanda struggles to teach Peach not to bite, while Peach struggles to vanquish her new enemy, Handra the five-headed monster--also known as Amanda's hand.

The exciting day of show and tell has arrived and Amanda unveils Peach to thunderous applause and rave approval.

Amanda and her mom decide to buy Peach, Amanda's trouble-making ferret, a friend, hoping that will calm Peach down, but the arrival of Prince Edwin only seems to make things worse.
