In this sequel to "Anne of Green Gables, " teenage Anne Shirley becomes a schoolteacher in a small village on Prince Edward Island.

Presents the story of sixteen-year-old Anne's adventures after she returns to Avonlea on Prince Edward Island to teach in the village school she attended as a young girl.

Anne Shirley, the imaginative orphan girl taken in by brother and sister Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, is all grown up at sixteen-years-old, and ready to take her place as the new teacher at Avonlea school.

Anne has reached the age of sixteen, and begins teaching at the Avonlea school, but finds she still has much in common with her pupils.

Sixteen-year-old Anne, mischievous and spirited as ever, returns to Avonlea to teach in the village school where she herself was taught.
