Elphame, half-human, half-centaur, in search of her destiny, sets out to restore the past glory of Castle MacCallan which was destroyed one hundred years earlier during a war with the demonic Formorians, but her efforts are threatened when Elphame meets her life mate, Lochlan, a half-man, half-Formorian that her new clan finds difficult to accept.
