Lizzie, whose family fosters young puppies, is at the animal shelter when Bella, an underweight newborn cocker spaniel who has difficulty eating, is brought in. Lizzie falls in love with Bella but Lizzie isn't sure that she will be able to nurse the puppy back to health.
