Mallory's dad has lost his job and the eight Pike kids decide to help out by getting jobs of their own. Mallory gets a baby-sitting job with a wealthy family.

The Mancusis have a lot of pets and they are desperate for a sitter, so Jessi decides to try the job.

Dawn is sure there's a ghost in her house, but she and the other babysitters are so busy with their jobs that they don't have time for a ghost hunt.

Follows the adventures of Kristy and the other members of the Baby-sitters Club as they deal with crank calls, uncontrollable two-year-olds, wild pets, and parents who do not always tell the truth.

Ashley thinks Claudia has artistic talent and should spend more time on her "calling" and forget about the Babysitters Club. Claudia has to decide between the Baby-sitters Club and Ashley.
