Tintin and Snowy, aided by the Sons of the Dragon, find professor Fang Hsi-Ying in an opium den where he is being held prisoner.

While trying to track down the leader of an opium smuggling ring, Tintin and Snowy travel to China where the trail leads them to an opium den called the Blue Lotus.
