High school senior Jayd Jackson has defeated her grandmother's worst and closest enemy, but that doesn't mean her life is getting easier--not with all the drama her friends create--like Mickey and G, who are on the run, or like her evil neighbor, Esmeralda, who just won't rest in peace.

In the midst of chaos in practically every area of her life, Jayd tries to concentrate on the things that are important to her and that could hold the key to bringing the chaos under control for good.

At the start of her senior year in high school, Jayd must handle the fallout from the debutante ball, her boyfriend's cheating, and going head-to-head against her former best friend, Misty.

After Jayd Jackson fails her pre-test exam for the Advanced Placement exams, she knows it is time to get down to business, so she joins a study group and befriends a whole new crew, which upsets her old friends.

Jayd and her friends, fed up with the way the school is handling Cultural Awareness Day, decide to form the first African Student Union, much to the administration's disapproval, and a new Latino sophomore catches Jayd's eye.

Jayd tries to do well in school as she deals with saving her relationship with Rah, helping her friend Mickey who is being asked to leave school after the birth of her baby, and learning how to earn extra money from making hair potions.
