Four friends, living on Ocracoke Island off North Carolina, are inspired by their elderly friend Mrs. McNemmish's tales of her pirate ancestor Blackbeard, to honor her request to be buried at sea and to attempt to claim the treasure she promises will be waiting for them if they do as she asks.
After giving their friend Mrs. McNemmish the pirate burial at sea that she wanted, four friends, living on Ocracoke Island, North Carolina, find themselves drawn into a dangerous adventure related to the long-ago exploits of the pirate Blackbeard.
