Zoey Redbird, a vampire, has lost her friends and become an outcast while she attends House of Night, a vampire finishing school, but she realizes the only way she can repair the damage caused by her death is to be friends again with humans.

Setting her sights on a human, Neferet launches an attack that is felt by all the residents of Tulsa and leaves Zoey and her friends scrambling to discover who carried it out.
