On April 18, 1906, an earthquake struck San Francisco. This book explains why California is called "earthquake country"; describes the death and destruction caused by the earthquake and the fires which raged for three days; tells about the relief supplies which were rushed to to the stricken city from all parts of the world and discusses the reconstruction of the city.
