Shy Mia Fullerton hopes to shed her image and become more confident as she starts high school, but as she struggles to overcome her shyness and become more confident, she is faced with challenges both at home and at school that make her question who she really is and what she wants out of life.

Mia Fullerton reluctantly opts to spend her summer as part of the stage crew at a local children's theater group; but as the summer progresses, she realizes that she actually enjoys acting.
