Tom travels through the forests of the Forbidden Land in search of the fragment of the Amulet of Avantia, which has the power to bring his father back to life, but in order to succeed on his quest, Tom must avoid Equinus the Spirit Horse, which travels through the forest stealing the life force of other creatures.

Young Tom faces Cypher, the Mountain Giant, and struggles to outwit the giant's power and cunning in order to free him and save the kingdom of Avantia from Malvel's evil spell.

On his quest to save his father, Tom's efforts are thwarted by Blaze the Ice Dragon who was sent by the evil wizard Malvel. In order to win the next piece of the amulet, Tom must defeat the monster. Includes black-and-white illustrations.

Tom, fighting to rescue his aunt and uncle from the evil wizard Marvel with the help of his animal companions, faces off against a beast known as Spiros the Ghost Phoenix.

In order to save Avantia from destruction, Tom must battle the monster Arachnid, the King of Spiders.

Tom and Elenna travel the plains in search of Tagus the Night Horse, who is wreaking havoc throughout the land of Avantia, in the hopes of stopping him before everything is destroyed, but their plans are threatened when Tom is put in jail and must convince the townspeople he is not the one responsible for the strange events.

Tom must battle Trillion the Three-Headed Lion in order to collect the last of the golden armor needed to save Aduro and the kingdom, but the evil wizard Malvel has a plan to keep Tom from claiming the victory.

After successfully protecting his village from Soltra, Tom leaves his family to embark on a dangerous quest through the desert to battle Vipero the Snake Man.

The dark wizard Malvel unleashes the beast Soltra the Stone Charmer in the marshes surrounding Tom's village, forcing Tom to leave everything he loves behind in order to protect his family.

Tom and Elenna must stop Sepron the Sea Serpent from destroying the people of Avantia's coast.
