In Holton Mills, New Hampshire, the lives of thirteen-year-old Henry and his emotionally fragile mother Adele are changed forever when they open their home to a mysterious bleeding man and find themselves learning to hope again.

Henry is a lonely and friendless teenager and spends most of his time watching television, reading, and day-dreaming as he keeps his emotionally fragile, long-divorced mother company. But all that is about to change and Henry will soon learn about jealousy, betryal, the importance of putting those we care about above ourselves, and that real love is worth waiting for.
