Micah and his friends continue to protect the dragon-like Wyrmes of the Wyrmeweald from the Kith bandits that hunt them for profit, even as the Kith attacks grow bolder and the Whitewyrm calls for the Wyrmes to prepare for a battle.
Seventeen-year-old Micah enters the wyrmeweald in order to steal a wyrme egg and make his fortune, but he soon finds himself in danger and must prove his worth, with help from a tracker named Eli and an assassin named Thrace.
