The Smurflings come up with a plan to find Smurfette a female friend, while the Smurfs open a medallion on Puppy's collar, help the Little Ghosts, and deal with a pesky bird.

The Smurfs are in for a surprise when they are introduced to Smurfette, but Papa Smurf steps in after he learns that Gargamel orchestrated her arrival. Then, the Smurf village suffers from famine after thewinter warehouse burns down.

Papa Smurf enlists Gargamel's help to resolve a dispute between the Northern Smurfs and the Southern Smurfs of Smurf Village over the right way to speak Smurf. Then, Gargamel uses an invisibility potion to get close to the Smurfs and the Smurfs take a vacation to the seashore to escape Gargamel, only to meet Barbapapa, Gargamel's cousin.

Gargamel comes up with a new plan to destroy the Smurfs and convinces an insatiable giant that Smurfs make the most delicious soup.
