Mysterious Mr. Spines

Edward McLeod has battled his way through the afterlife, and now he must take on the Jackal and fight for all of the trapped souls in the Woodbine.

After learning truths about his past and his destiny, fourteen-year-old Edward begins mastering his Guardian powers, with help from new friends in the Woodbine, in order to rescue his mother's soul from the most evil force in the afterlife, the Jackal.

In 1921, fourteen-year-old Edward gets caught up in a conflict between the Guardians of Woodbine--the place of the dead--and the Groundlings, the Jackal's agents of corruption on Earth, and sets out on an important quest using his newly-sprouted wings.
