The growing relationship between Beni and Kagetora hits a snag when Beni's father voices his objections and reveals that he has arranged for Beni to marry mysterious new classmate Iwatsuru.

Kagetora, a ninja sworn to protect Princess Beni, somehow travels forward in time, ending up at the side of Beni, a wealthy girl who really does not want a bodyguard, preferring instead to leave herself open to the kidnappers and would-be assassins who believe her to be the route to her father's riches.
