Alice Moore is eight years old in 1915 when she goes to live with her grandmother in southern Ireland. Alice discovers that her life of privilege is reserved for the Anglo-Irish as she comes to know others outside her circle. In the aftermath of the Easter Rising of 1916, Alice is torn between her heritage and her conscience.
