Heather Richardson loves Blackjack, her trusted horse, but when she meets a rare, gray Morgan named Frosty, she realizes that not all horses are created equal and that each horse has its own special talent.

Heather's dream of riding a beautiful black stallion comes true when she becomes acquainted with Chauncy, a man who owns a horse farm, but her special bond with Blackjack, a large Morgan, is threatened when Chauncy becomes ill and is forced to sell Blackjack along with his other horses.
