The books of beginning

Even though wizard Stanislaus Pym said they would be safe at the Edgar Allan Poe Home for Hopeless and Incorrigible Orphans, Kate, Michael, and Emma are soon found by their enemies, and now the race is on to find the next of the Books of Beginning, the book of fire, before it can fall into the wrong hands.

Kate, Michael, and Emma have passed from one orphanage to another in the ten years since their parents disappeared to protect them, but now they learn that they have special powers, a prophesied quest to find a magical book, and a fearsome enemy.
