Cleaning woman/karate expert Lily Bard is determined to leave the investigation of lifelong Shakespeare, Arkansas resident Deedra Dean's murder strictly to the police, but she is compelled to take on the role of sleuth when the authorities come up with a long list of suspects and very few clues.

When Lily Bard's landlord is murdered in the small town of Shakespeare, Arkansas, she finds her job as the owner of a cleaning and errand-running service gives her the perfect opportunity to play detective, but while her snooping uncovers some interesting secrets, it also draws the attention of the killer.
