Sixteen-year-old Vincenzo Soldari gathers a ragtag crew of children and outsiders left in the bombed out city of Naples to mount an attack against the invading forces of Hitler.

A sixteen-year-old boy, on summer holiday on an island off Naples in the 1950s, becomes obsessed with a mysterious, slightly older girl who teaches him what it meant to be a Jew under German domination, and sparks him to take action against the Germans who have once against invaded the Bay of Naples--this time as tourists.
