In the days leading up to her eighteenth birthday, Alexandria becomes sure she will not live that long if a long-forgotten order that is trying to kill her has its way or if the Council finds out what she did in the Catskills. Plus, every time she and Seth make out, she gets another mark of the Apollyon and is that much closer to awakening.

Alex must decide between the love that is fated and the love that is forbidden when a mysterious threat confronts the Council and threatens her freedom.
