Tsering, determined to live up to the example of his deceased father, defies his stepfather and attempts to navigate the dangerous mountain pass on which his father lost his life.
Young Tsering waits impatiently for the salt caravan to return to his remote village in the Himalayas, but when the caravan returns, Tsering learns his father has been killed and his life will be forever changed.
