Presents forty-five line drawings of Civil War-era men, women, and children's fashions, including Federal and Confederate uniforms, men's and women's day and promenade costumes, home dresses, ball gowns, and travel and wedding attire.
Paper dolls of a youthful Queen Victoria and Empress Eugenie and paper doll fashions illustrate the changes in women's clothing and costume which occurred during the Victorian era (i.e., 1837 - 1901). During Victoria's early reign, Romantic fashions were prim and sedate, but by the end of her reign, they had become increasingly ornate.
