Star trek

On the day of James Kirk's birth, his father dies on his ship in a last stand against a mysterious alien vessel. He was searching for Ambassador Spock, who is a child on Vulcan, disdained by his neighbors for his half-human nature. Twenty years later, Kirk has grown into a young troublemaker. He is inspired by Capt. Christopher Pike to fulfill his potential in Starfleet, even though he annoys his instructors. Suddenly, there is an emergency on Vulcan when the Romulan Nero comes from the future to take revenge on the Federation. The newly commissioned USS Enterprise is crewed with promising cadets like Uhura, Sulu, Chekov and even Kirk himself thanks to Leonard McCoy's medical trickery. Together, this crew will travel to the final frontier where the old legend is altered forever.

Air and space

The earliest successful human flights were conducted using lighter-than-air balloons. Today, modern aircraft wings use a principle known as the Bernoulli effect to generate lift. Examine significant developments in air and space technology in air and space, one of the titles in the technology and innovation series.

Lightyear

"Buzz Lightyear and the rest of his space crew are marooned on a strange planet! Can Buzz help them return home?"--Back cover.

Aurora's end

"When we last saw Squad 312, they working together seamlessly (aka, freaking out) as an intergalactic battle raged and an ancient superweapon threatened to obliterate Earth. Everything went horribly wrong, naturally. But as it turns out, not all endings are endings, and the team has one last chance to rewrite theirs. Maybe two. It's complicated. Cue Zila, Fin, and Scarlett (and MAGELLAN!): making friends, making enemies, and making history? Sure, no problem. Cue Tyler, Kal, and Auri: uniting with two of the galaxy's most hated villains? Um, okay. That, too. Actually saving the galaxy, though? Now that will take a miracle."--Amazon.

Ender in exile

" In Ender's Game, the world's most gifted children were taken from their families and sent to an elite training academy. At Battle School, they learned combat, strategy, and secret intelligence to fight a dangerous war on behalf of those left on Earth. But they also learned some important and less definable lessons about life. After the life-changing events of those years, these children--now teenagers--must leave the school and readapt to life in the outside world. Having not seen their families or interacted with other people for years--where do they go now? What can they do? Ender fought for humanity, but he is now reviled as a ruthless assassin. No longer allowed to live on Earth, he enters into exile. With his sister Valentine, he chooses to leave the only home he's ever known to begin a relativistic--and revelatory--journey beyond the stars"--Barnes & Noble.
