Misao Harada wishes she could have the normal life of a high school student, but when she is attacked by a demon, Kyo, her childhood friend saves her; and she learns that she is the bride of prophecy and the demon world is ready to fight over her powerful blood.

Kyo leaves Misao trapped in the tengu mansion while he goes to help save the Kuzunoha clan from slaughter due to Sho's manipulations.

Misao and Kyo travel to the tengu village to put an end to Sho's claim on the clan leadership, but Misao's attempt to help in the fight lands her in Sho's trap. Now, she must decide between betraying Kyo or dying a horrible, painful death.

Misao has gotten used to her new life, but Kyo is reluctant to consummate the relationship and secure the power of the prophecy and the line of succession because he has been warned that doing so will have catastrophic consequences.

Kyo's long-lost father reappears and is suspected of murdering his wife, while Misao finds out what really happened to her mother and debates whether or not she should tell Kyo the truth.

Misao Harada realizes she must face the fact that her boyfriend, Kyo, is threatened by the demon world, while trying to protect herself from becoming the property of the demon realm.

Misao Harada begins to trust Kyo more after he gives her one of his primary feathers, a talisman that will protect her from the demons that wish to eat her when he is not nearby, but as she considers becoming his bride, she wonders if she can leave her family behind.
