The public and private lives of six key men who ruled the Roman Empire: Julius Caesar; Augustus; Nero; Hadrian; Constantine; and Justinian. Includes unequaled location footage; unseen images; and careful re-enactments bringing the series to life.

Presents the typical experience of a warrior in each of these military cultures, using contemporary narratives, bloodless reenactments of battles, current views of the terrain, computer graphics reproductions, and artwork (sculpture, painting, etc.) from the period described.
