This year the robot races are just for children, and Jimmy Roberts is entering the robot taxi his genius grandfather has built--but he will have to compete with a racer designed by NASA engineers for the wealthy and unscrupulous Horace Pelly.
Jimmy Roberts and his robot, Maverick, are ready for the next stage of the robot races which will go through the Amazon rain forest, but his enemy Horace Pelly is equally determined to win--and he does not care how he does it.
For the third leg of the robot races the contestants must choose between three possible Arctic routes, all of which are dangerous--especially when some of the racers are not playing by the rules.
