Two children, Jack and Annie, discover a mysterious tree house and are swept away to the world of the dinosaurs, a medieval Great Hall, a tomb in ancient Egypt, and a pirate ship, unsure how to get home.

Jack and Annie are transported by their magic tree house to the time of the Civil War where they meet Clara Barton.

The magic tree house takes Jack and Annie to an African rainforest, where the siblings encounter gorillas and learn to communicate with them.
