Scar Chain defeats the Undertakers in battle and escapes, but Ganta and Shiro stay behind to continue fighting. Tamaki, the leader of Deadman Wonderland, begins developing Ninben, artificially created Deadmen, and Ganta's friend, Azami, is the first test subject.

Ganta joins a group called Scar Chain that is planning a prison break. However, when the plan is exposed, the group must face a brutal unit formed to destroy rebellions called the Undertakers.

After being framed for the brutal murders of his classmates by Red Man, middle school student Ganta Igarashi is sentenced to the deadly theme park prison called "Deadman Wonderland, where he is forced to battle evil to survive.

Middle school student Ganta Igarashii adjusts to life inside the prison walls of "Deadman Wonderland." When he hears that the Red Man is in the G Ward, he races there to find answers but instead meets a strange man who calls Ganta "Woodpecker.".

Middle schooler, Ganta Igarashi was framed for the murder of his classmates and sentenced to live in the deadly ruins of an amusement park known as "Deadman Wonderland" where insane criminals fight to the death. Senji is saved by Ganta as they battle Toto Sakigami. And when Senji causes a building to collapse, they assume Toto was crushed, but the truth may surprise them.

Heading farther inside Deadman Wonderland, Senji and Ganta hope to find the Chorus Blocks, which are the only way they can unravel the mystery of Wretched Egg. Ganta is captured in the process when Toto Sakagami appears. Then, Makina finds Ganta's mother's diary, which reveals the pasts of Ganta and Shiro.
