After the Avengers capture Michael Korvac and have him imprisoned, the Guardians of the Galaxy show up to claim the prisoner and they will not take no for an answer, but Korvac uses the opportunity to escape. Captain America and the Guardians follow Korvac, a cybrog, through a portal that takes them one thousand years into the future, where it appears that Korvac has gained access to the Power Cosmic, which can only be granted by Galactus.
