Kit, biracial, a popular girl in school but dealing with the death of her father; David, is relatively socially isolated, functionally autistic. He and Kit eat together at the same table one day and develop a poignant connection - David, because of the way his brain works, deals in blunt honestly and may help Kit find out how her dad's tragic car accident occurred.
