Mike Auburn works above Chicago on the beams of a half-built skyscraper and does this because he is obscessed with discovering evidence of the afterlife. Mike's death-defying stunts have brought him closer than ever to lifting the veil of reality. His feats have not gone unnoticed however, and a tenuous organization is reaching out recruit him to help prepare the city for Ragnarok, the end of the world as everyone knows it.
