A young witch named Aria lives deep in the Beech Forest all on her own, and she spends her days growing herbs and knitting, but her world is turned upside down when she encounters a talking white wolf. The wolf asks to live with her, and Aria makes her very first friend. She names the wolf Gwyn, and she befriends a boy named Alvin and his sister Colleen from outside the magical barrier. Later, Aria's grandmother's son, Theodore, who was also adopted, comes to see Aria, and she tells him about Alvin and Colleen.
