Picking up an elementary school girl named Alice and a dog, the escapees from the high school continue to try to make it to a safe house, but the closer they get to their goal, the more dire their situation grows.
When a strange disease runs rampant through their high school, turning everyone into zombies, Takashi Komuro, his childhood friend Rei, and a few others fight for survival, but wonder how long they can hold out when everyone is after their blood.
Exposed and on the run, Takashi and his friends make their way to the police station, where they must clear the place of zombies before Rei can search for her father and Saya can look for information.
Separated from the rest of the students in their high school, Takashi and Rei move through the town, which has been overrun by zombies. Although the immediate threat of attack has lessened, anarchy is the only law left and Takashi and Rei may have to act like monsters just to survive.
Takashi and his group take refuge with a band of survivors in a mall, where they try to avoid getting involved in the local politics, but an overwhelming number of pretty girls makes it difficult to avoid trouble.
Seeing Officer Asami's authority diminishing, Takashi and his friends plan to leave the mall before the situation gets out of control, but do not get out before the mall's defenses are breached by zombies. While Asami and the Fujimi High students go toward the exit, the rest of the group heads for the roof, where they become trapped.
