On the planet Taldain, there are two distinct sides--Dayside is in permanent sunlight while Darkside remains in a perpetual night. With many of the Sand Masters from the Dayside killed in an ambush, they have put their hopes in Kenton, despite his inexperience, to uncover the plot against them. And when he teams up with Khriss, a duchess from Darkside, it's unclear how much his new cohort can be trusted.
