A struggling American ventriloquist in post-World War II Europe is possessed by the mischievous spirit of a young Jewish boy killed in the Holocaust. Includes author's note which details the murder of over one million children by the Nazis during the 1930s and 1940s.

Anna, a tomboy with an androgynous appearance living in ancient Palestine, is disguised as a boy and sent away to live with a band of shepherds, but the desert leads her to be captured by a band of mystical women and after embracing her place in the sisterhood, Anna, learns of a threat to their order and sets out to share their healing wisdom with the world.

A moral allegory, set in ancient India, about one soul's quest for the ultimate answer to the enigma of man's role in this world. The hero, Siddhartha, undergoes a series of experiences to emerge in a state of peace and wisdom.
