Three seventh-grade friends, Tommy, Spike, and Karim, join a crew based on an app that allows private citizens to become Independent Adventure Contractors and hunt down monsters. But the trio begin to suspect foul play when the monster population suddenly grows, and several species are found well outside their usual habitats. They realize that a new tech start-up is manipulating the system and are willing to do anything to keep their secrets safe--putting the three friends in mortal danger.
