Three months after Lily found her sister, Alice, cutting herself in the bathroom--an event Lily names The Night on the Bathroom Floor--Alice is about to come home from her treatment program, calling up fears and feelings she had tamped down since that time. With Alice comes Micah, a boy from her same treatment program, who recognizes Lily is hiding secret compulsions of her own. To help, Micah joins Lily on an art project for school, where she must find the courage to speak and write the words and poetry she has been concealing in her heart.
