After her parents die in a fire, newly orphaned and blind Safia goes to live with a reclusive aunt she's never met--former worldwide adventurer Walteranne Hakim Whimsy. It turns out Aunty Whimsy was cursed to live as a blue horned monster so she hides herself away in her house on a hill. However, when Whimsy learns something is threatening her legacy, she and Safia go on an adventure.

The reclusive Lord Whimsy plans to stop an old rival from uncovering the truth of a disappearance and blind Safia finds herself experiencing an adventure and parts of the world she had only dreamed about.
