After agreeing to Aristide's proposal, Melphiera travels to Galbraith before winter settles in Marchalrayd, but they stop to stay at Fort Ritterd, where Melphiera is excited about the opportunity to supplement the knights' porridge with a healthy dose of monsters. Soon, Melphiera discovers that Aristide is hiding a big secret and a connection with her late mother. Melphiera and Aristide go hunting together, and Aristide gets jealous.

Melphiera tries to keep Aristide from going blood mad while he battles monsters to bring peace to the kingdom. Could the solution to the land's monster problem be eating them?.
