In Flanders fields

On Christmas day, as the guns fall silent, a young soldier ventures out of the trenches of Flanders Fields during World War I, protected only by a white scarf tied to his bayonet, to rescue a robin which has become trapped on the barbed wire fence that separates the enemy forces.
