How it's being done

In this follow-up to her previous book It's Being Done: Academic Success in Unexpected Schools, which profiled 15 successful schools, Chenoweth, an education writer who works for The Education Trust, explains how schools with high-poverty and high-minority student populations have improved student achievement and lowered achievement gaps. The volume provides specific information on how eight schools across the country (as well as the school system in Massachusetts) are succeeding, including public and charter elementary, junior, and high schools. Chapters share what educators have done in these schools and give advice to teachers and administrators on how to bring about academic success.
