Jakabok Botch, a lesser demon born in the ninth circle of Hell, shares the story of his life, telling of the abuse he suffered at the hands of his parents, the misadventure that led to his being brought to the World Above in the fifteenth-century, his partnership with the demon Quitoon, and the discovery he made at the home of Johannes Gutenberg that led to his being trapped in the book.
