After the music of a popular German American jazz band is banned by the Nazis in 1939, they escape to Paris where their young trumpet player Hieronymus Falk is arrested by the Gestapo and is never heard from again. In 1992, an original member of the band, Sid Griffiths, breaks his silence and finally reveals what happened to Falk.
