Anna and Jake Campbell find raising three-year-old Chris and baby Eddie plus Jake's schedule as an orthopedic surgeon is already taking a toll on them and then Eddie becomes terribly ill. When a diagnosis comes, grief gives way to recrimination and accusations; Anna ignores her son Chris while Jake is drawn into temptation.
