A high wind in Jamaica

The five Bas-Thornton children, accompanied by their Creole friends, the Fernandez children, are put on a ship to England after a hurricane levels their home in Jamaica, but they are captured by pirates off the coast of Cuba and adapt very swiftly to the pirating life, proving more brutal than their captors.
