All of the barnyard animals told their young not to talk to the three-legged cat Fanny because it would embarrass her, and besides, she had nothing to say anyway. So Fanny spent her time alone, hobbling around. Until one day, on a dare, the farm dog, Ruby, gave Fanny a little lick.
